Great Dining Experience at Restaurant Nathan Outlaw

A long bank holiday weekend away in Cornwall, relaxing all camera kit charged and ready to go. Late drive down on Friday evening, ready for a great taste experience at Restaurant Nathan Outlaws, New Road, Port Isaac.

The food was so wonderful that out of the 4 courses I only managed to grab one photograph. Really need to go back and photograph the rest, and of course eat it. Although next time will get a taxi so i can also enjoy the wine that comes with each course to compliment it, the wife certainly enjoyed all of it and we are still talking about it now and probably for some time to come I have never tasted food as good.
Mother and Father in law also enjoyed this fine dining experience.
 

We opted for the Lunchtime set menu on Sat 23rd May
First course
Scallop Tartare, Apple and Radish, myself not being a great lover of scallops, I got to admit it I really enjoyed this and so did the rest of my table. The wine that complimented was the Trevannion 2013, a local wine from Cornwall Knightor Winery the wife tells me it complimented it very well.

Second course
Turbot and Port Isaac Sauce, the sauce was wonderful from memory soft crab shell sauce, A Spanish wine complimented this dish O Rosal 2013. Bodegas Terras Gauda, Galicia. 

Third course (this course is the only one I managed to get a snap of)
Cod, Cauliflower,Watercress and Bacon. Cod on a bed of sliced cauliflower with crispy bacon and watercress, for we had a South African wine Professor Kurkurowitz, BLANKbottle Wellington, South Africa blank bottle because there is no cultivator on the label and you are asked what you can taste when tasting it, not sure bu i think my wife said vanilla but I do believe she enjoyed it.

Fourth course pudding.
Rhubarb,Strawberry, Vanilla and Yoghurt the wine was Brachetto d'Aqui 2014 'Braida' Giacoma Bologna Piedmont, Italy.

A couple from my table had the cheese course
Tunworth Cheese, Celery and Hazelnuts
the wine was Brachetto d'Aqui 2014 'Braida' Giacoma Bologna Piedmont, Italy. This one had a strong smell of Sherry or even tones of Brandy but was told to get past the smell and to taste it, again all exceptionally good.

The whole experience for me and the rest of my family was fantastic with exceptionally good food and wines. The service was second to none, from the moment we walked, being asked if we would like to meet Nathan as we thought he may not have been there, handing over my Nikon D600 (GULP) for a photo opportunity to the moment we left. 

You can get some great panoramic views on a clear day from this location.

Just a shame I never took more photos of the food would love to return to take more photo's !.
